June Recap

June was packed with heartwarming moments at Gaowa Montessori, and now we’re revving up for an exciting summer!

Before we dive into this month's fun, let's relive our June highlights:

We kicked off the month with an unforgettable graduation for our preschoolers and kindergarteners. We’re honored to be part of their journey and can’t wait to see the amazing things they’ll achieve.

Next, we wrapped up the academic year with our final Parent/Teacher Conferences. A huge thank you to our supportive parents – our collaboration is truly special. Afterward, our dedicated teachers transformed their classrooms to get ready for all the summer adventures.

We ended the month on a sweet note, celebrating Father’s Day with donuts and coffee. It was heartwarming to see the kids and their dads share this special moment. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

Now, let’s dive into what’s coming up in July 🤩✨

Inside the Montessori Classroom

Toddler Classrooms

Ms. Esme's & Ms. Kait's Classroom

Practical Life: Dental Hygiene Set

The children use a toothbrush and a model set of teeth to practice brushing techniques. This hands-on activity helps them learn the importance of keeping their teeth clean and healthy. Through guided practice, the toddlers are developing essential self-care skills and understanding the basics of good dental hygiene in an engaging and interactive way.

Ms. Suzzaine's & Ms. Keila's Classroom

Grace and Courtesy: Share Day

In the Jupiter classroom, when students go on trips, we kindly ask them if they can bring back a postcard to share with the class. During circle time, each child has the opportunity to show their postcard to the class, describe the picture, and share a little about where it came from. This activity helps develop their language skills, encourages curiosity about different places, and fosters a sense of community as we learn about each other's experiences.

Ms. Maneet's & Ms. Citlali's Classroom

Mathematics: Counting

Using a variety of materials such as frogs and number cards, the toddlers practice counting from 1 to 5. This hands-on activity not only helps them develop their numerical skills but also enhances their fine motor coordination as they handle the small objects.

Primary Classrooms

Ms. Nancy's , Ms. Nijma's, & Ms. Chamalee's Classroom

Language: CVC (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant) Words Worksheet

The children work with worksheets that feature simple three-letter words, such as "cat," "dog," and "sun," helping them practice sounding out and blending these basic phonetic elements. Here, our friend is working on writing out the letters. This activity not only supports their phonics knowledge but also boosts their confidence as emerging readers.

Ms. Tatiana's & Ms. Cassidy's Classroom

Sensorial: Thermic Tablets

This activity involves using tablets made of different materials, such as wood, metal, and felt, which vary in temperature. The children take turns feeling the tablets and matching them based on their temperature differences. This hands-on experience helps refine their sense of touch and temperature discrimination.

Ms. Marjorie's Classroom

Practical Life: Baby Washing

In our Montessori primary classroom, we recently introduced the baby washing activity, which has quickly become a favorite among the children. Using gentle soap, water, and soft cloths, the children take turns washing a baby doll. This practical life activity teaches them about caring for others, personal hygiene, and responsibility. It also helps develop their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The children enjoy this nurturing activity and take pride in keeping their baby doll clean and cared for.

Ms. Ashley's & Ms. Ruby's Classroom

Cultural: Parts of a Tree Puzzle

The children have been engaging with the parts of a tree puzzle, and their enthusiasm for this activity is delightful! They have been exploring and assembling the puzzle, learning about the various parts of a tree such as roots, trunk, branches, and leaves. This hands-on experience not only teaches them about the structure of a tree but also enhances their fine motor skills and cognitive development. The children are thoroughly enjoying this activity, deepening their connection with nature and expanding their knowledge in a fun and interactive way.
